I completed the detox and cleanse with Arbonne and I stuck to it 95% of the time. I lost a total of 6 lbs. I do believe if you don’t have PCOS you can lose a lot more. I also feel that since I wasn’t already eating gluten and dairy my body wasn’t getting rid of as much crap as maybe others so the weight coming off was less BUT weight came off and I feel great!
Here’s the first 10 things that came to my mind about the detox:
1. I didn’t get sick from this regiment which is great because having gastric bypass from gaining 100 lbs. in a year (thanks pcos) I get sick often from food and this did nothing to me (YEAH).
2. The vanilla protein powder tastes too much like vanilla, like way too much vanilla BUT with the right berries (blueberries are best) you can get the taste down a lot. My favorite was anything cinnamon in the shake.
3. The shakes for breakfast and lunch (when I did that) really kept me full between meals.
4. When I did crave a snack I found carrots. I hated carrots previously but I gave them another chance and love them. I keep them at work now with Trader Joes Mediterranean humus. It’s a must.
5. No one is perfect. Twice I had a small dessert because lets be honest…it’s really super hard to find gf/df desserts and I took advantage of the two times I did find them. However; I was out on walks or after a 10k race so I believe I earned a treat HA!
6. The detox tea is super yummy. I added two stevia packs to the tea. Perfect way to start and end the day. It even smells good.
7. The fizzy sticks for energy were great! I even have to order more when I’m done with this post. Great tasting too. I didn’t end up using crystal light at all.
8. I gave up Diet Coke. No more. I found Zevia again. I missed Zevia but it’s so expensive. I also found a new love for water. Nice cold water.
9. It gets easier. It does…Keeping to a shake for breakfast, small snack, lunch, small snack, dinner, nothing does get easier. I think it helped “No meals 2 hours before bed” love that.
10.The support of the facebook group was great. Recipe ideas, quotes, testimonials from others all throughout the detox was really helpful.
Overall, I think this was a nice detox. Nice way to stop eating foods just bad for your body. I gave up corn too. I’d use corn tortillas at times but now no more corn either. I do notice I feel better since the detox. It was nice to be reminded about portions, what really should be on your plate. With the support and the tools given it’s a great little detox. It’s not a diet I don’t believe because it’s more of a lifestyle change. I had already lost weight and did this to help get me eating even cleaner. If you are ready for a life change this is perfect. It’s a little pricey but it was worth it and I actually thought about what I spent on breakfast at home and lunch out at work and it’s a swap really and I got so much more. Totally worth doing once a year. Even after I reach my pre-Liam weight-loss goal.
The 7 Day Cleanse….
1. Just to throw it out there. At first it tastes like apple cider vinegar.
2. Add a fizzy stick or two and the 32 oz of apple cider vinegar water tasting cleanse tastes good. Be sure to add ice.
3. By day 4 if you are like me it will taste good.
4. Sure way to get in your 64+ oz of water in by 2pm
5. I didn’t have a upset stomach until the 5th day. I think it takes some time to clean out your colon, etc. It’s not like I lived in the bathroom but it did start to get to me.
6. I did it. I finished the 7 days!
I really didn’t see what I guess I wanted to see with the cleanse. I did feel really good at the end of the cleanse and maybe my body was cleaner than I thought? I noticed I felt more positive and alert after the cleanse. It was also the end of the detox. Maybe the whole process and giving up diet coke helped.
In closing I enjoyed this detox. It didn’t feel like a punishment and though I can’t afford this more than once a year it was a great way to gather a few more tools to clean eating and being good to me. Until next year!
