Back to basics. Part of this year’s practice for me is focusing on what is in front of me right now and not worrying about what needs to be done weeks from now.

Daily, I start with a gratitude list, take my medication, journal, pick a card to show me what I need to focus on today, and be in the moment. Some days this is hard to accomplish, and I get sidetracked and don’t follow through, but I want to have self-care time in the am that is just for me.

My hope is that through this practice, I really do focus more on what I need to accomplish now, be in the moment for myself and my family.
