I realize at some point I got off course with how many days I’ve been 37.  Turns out only 328.  Yep, I was off BUT not like anyone is really keeping track of the days.

Today I received a package in the mail.  It was a small package so I didn’t know what it was because I’ve ordered some Chrismukkah gifts but they shouldn’t arrive yet.

I open the package and find a Jo Malone Wild Bluebell Cologne.  I love Jo Malone and the sad truth is I’m too poor to enjoy expensive things other than in sample size right now (I know poor Kat, total quality problem I get that) and I wasn’t too upset because I still had some Chanel Gardenia from my 37th Birthday gift from the hubby.

So back on topic….My friend Steph was attending a Jo Malone event and I was invited but I couldn’t afford anything with medical costs for the kids these days so I stayed away and asked for yummy samples if possible.  Instead she sent me this with a lovely card too.  A VERY early 38th Birthday gift.  I actually cried.  It really brought tears to my eyes.  I’m known to buy coffee for strangers, feed homeless by going in the store with them and letting them choose, put money in meters but I never assume things will be done for me, it just makes me feel good about how lucky I really am and keeps me in gratitude and I never tell people when I do it.  So nice to have someone just do something so selfless for another.

I’m very grateful for Steph and our friendship.  We’ve come a long way including her moving here from Michigan.  Good thing too it’s always so cold there.  We worked for the same company and bonded.  I adore her and her sister Dee.

In short, I blessed to call her my friend and she really brightened my week.  It’s been a rough week with The Exorcist Toddler and Possessed Teen and they’re on the mend too so it all works itself out.
