PCOS & Glucorein Month One

It’s no secret I have PCOS and it’s no secret I hate it.  I was diagnosed at 21 after gaining 100 lbs. in a year.  In 2007 after we tried what seemed to be everything I had gastric bypass and I’ve lost that 100 lbs.

Fast forward.  In 2010 I had this little boy:

I’ve also had some chin hairs but you’d never know because I pluck them daily. Other women have facial hair so I’m not too upset over something that isn’t noticeable because I manage to take care of it.

I was becoming more and more frustrated and I saw a story on PCOS DIVA about Glucorein and so since she wasn’t getting paid by them to do her story and because she was reaching out to them about the supplement then there was this deal “Buy two months and get one free” I thought why not.

I’ve done one full 30 days on Glucorein and today I think I plucked one hair from my chin.  Not too shabby. I noticed over the month the hair becoming less and less.

I also didn’t gain more weight this month but even lost three lbs.  This was without exercising.  OK maybe a few days of exercise but I’ve had a month of trial and error with food because I’m finding that Gluten Free and Low Glycemic are they way I need to eat and it feels like such a punishment BUT the last week we’ve been finding ways to cook healthier meals from scratch and I’m feeling better about food again.

I did journal entries this month and here’s how it went:

  • February 7th – Body dysmorphia was in full swing.
  • February 10th – Finding that living Paleo is good.  I went down a lb. cutting out all bad carbs (veggies, fruit, chicken/turkey only).  I noticed I wasn’t a fan of the taste of the supplement Glucorein but that 1 additional Stevia helped.
  • February 12th – Remembered that Potato, Corn, and even GF pasta is all bad for PCOS.
  • February 13th – Spoke with Kristen at Napa Valley Nutrition.  She was interested in my story with PCOS.  I saw again no carbs the key.
  • February 15th – Sucked, that’s it.
  • February 16th – Much better day.  The next day always is.
  • February 19th – Weight is coming off.  Thinking it’s the supplement because I ate this way before with no results.  Even with exercising I’d gain weight.
  • February 22nd – Chips, even “Healthy” chips are evil.  Pure evil. That is all.
  • February 27th – I’ve lost like 3 lbs. this month but I want to lose so much more.
  • March 3rd – I may cry a lot.
  • March 5th – Beyond Frustrated.  Looking for a quick fix.  Not reality.  Had to cut out almonds 😦

Not a happy month of journaling but I’m hopeful today and looking forward to a better report next month BUT I can say I really do think the supplement is working.  My only issue was the taste and I fixed that with one stevia packet.  It was also a big help at getting me to drink water first thing in the morning.

Onto month two and a much happier moi.

**I’m receiving nothing for telling you all this.  As someone with PCOS this is just to help others out there who may be looking for a good supplement.**

  1. Hi! I was curious to see if you were still taking it? You don’t mention it in your other posts. I’m considering trying it. I have PCOS, too. I’m taking D-chiro-inositol (in the 2nd month) and hopeful with it. Good luck on your PCOS journey. It ain’t easy.

    1. To be honest I’d do a second update but I found the changes to not be much. I was getting cycles and not trying for kids so I didn’t see much changes at all. I barely have facial hair and it wasn’t helping with that. I think find some feedback of others using it for different reasons. Thanks and sorry for the delay!! Good luck on your PCOS journey too!!
