I’m going tonight for another evening out with my friend Nath. We do Scary Mommy Movie Nights. I love being scared at the Theatre. I love my neurotic side that has to sit cross legged or only seeing movies at one of the theatres near me where you pick your seat so I can have my feet up on the bars in front of me.
This is due to a viewing of Pet Sematary when I was about 13. The lights in the theatre went out when Herman Munster (yep I spotted him) was getting his ankles sliced open. So, this being said I’m sure that someone, one day will do the same to me.
I’m not a thrill seeker. Don’t know why but you’ll never see me at Six Flags Magic Mountain or jumping out of an airplane. It’s torture to get me to fly in the first place so why would I EVER want to jump out of a plane. My husband is more than willing to jump time and time again for us both.
I love the thrill of watching a movie through my fingers and making those around me laugh as I jump or scream. Yes, I’m that girl in the theatre and still I go back time and time again.
Tonight we see The Cabin in the Woods. I’ve heard it’s good. I heard there’s a twist at the beginning. I’ve done really good and not looked up the movie because I really want the full effect of being scared. I hope it’s not a slasher type film and more of a on the edge of your seat film.
Let me also mention movies like Saw & Hostel are not my cup of tea. I’m not into pure torture but more of hauntings or movies that keep you on the edge of your seat. My favorite “Horror” movie would have to be either the original Haunting or Poltergeist. So you see I’m not a slasher film kind of gal.
Back to Airplanes and Horror movies. I feel that jumping out of Airplanes is scarier than a Horror film. If I jump as I do at scary movies imagine me jumping out of a plane.
There, now you know a bit more about moi and the enjoyment I have from time to time being scared.
