I’ve missed my blog entry since the 17th. The thing is I’ve learned to not beat myself up over it. That’s really nice and something I’ve learned a bit more to do for the past 305 days. Progress on the road to being kinder to me and not stressing out.
I had wrist surgery to remove a ganglion cyst from my right wrist and the recovery is much different than I thought it would be. Here’s some things I didn’t realize would happen:
1. You can and may get very sick from being put under and you may throw up, even without stomach acid.
2. Half casts suck and make taking a shower very hard to do.
3. You can get sucked into a Netflix series like Orange is the New Black when trying to stay still.
4. You may find out that the cyst could have been a tumor. Always fun to find out.
5. You may have to rely on someone for so much.
Here is just five of the things I didn’t expect when having wrist surgery. I assumed that like the mass in my leg it would be so easy BUT I’m here to say (a) I was so wrong. By far this is the hardest recovery for me and I’ve had major surgeries and (b) I’m back.
Not too bad of a wound if you ask me.
