Dear Dairy & Diet Coke, We Have To Break Up…

OK, I have PCOS, no secret but I have a love for Pepper Jack Cheese and Cherry Coke Zero.

With PCOS I’m not supposed to have Dairy.  For the most part I don’t.  I drink Coconut Milk and my only vice left is my cheese.  I hate yogurt, cream cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, you get it.  Still I don’t realize how often I’m getting the dairy day to day.  I’ve read more and more about the Paleo way of eating and how it’s great for PCOS.  It includes being dairy free.

I’ve been getting a lot of migraines/headaches lately which can also be hormonal…Did I say how much I love PCOS??? but it can also be for my falling back on the wagon with Diet Coke.  I drink a lot of water daily but I drink a lot of Diet Coke too.

So…I have to break up with Dairy and Artificial Sweeteners.  This is the last step in being good to Moi.  I’m not being punished just because I have to eat Gluten Free, Low Glycemic, Dairy Free, and No Artificial Sweeteners.   It’s like Diabetics or people with Celiac.  I have a disease that attacks me with Insulin Resistance.  A disease that caused me to gain 100 lbs. in a year.  A disease I fight on a daily basis. Saturday I will begin my journey into no dairy and no artificial sweeteners and I will blog about this journey.  Blog about recipes, blog about the struggles, blog about the good things.

I’m doing so much better with exercise and not calling myself fat (I can’t be fat if I wear a size 8 dress, right?) you get my point.  I have to do everything the doctors say or I can’t complain that the weight is coming off so slowly.  I jog a lot and with PCOS it’s harder to lose weight and I want the Liam (baby) weight all gone.  I want to be the mom/wife/me that is a good example of how to live with PCOS.  I must say good-bye to my two last vices….OH and Dark Chocolate.
