Saying Good-Bye

Today is the day the pacifier is no more.

Liam is three and before there is anyone wondering why a three year old has one he just turned three and for two years this little plastic soothing tool also helped to keep one Secret Liam Pants breathing at night. Yes, it’s true.

Liam had breathing issues for the first two years of life. Always had his mouth open a bit and why? He couldn’t breathe through his nose.

In August of 2012 Liam was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and we were informed not only were his adenoids blocking his nasal passages 100% but he also heard us talk as if he were underwater.

Right after the surgery we were told to let him have his “Binkie” but since the Apraxia diagnosis which I think in some way is because of his breathing issues it’s best to separate the boy and his friend the “Binkie”

I don’t know how this day or process will go but he’s talking so much better and I hope this really does help even more.

I will admit I’m a little sad because he’s really not a baby any longer and it makes me a bit sad. Still I’m so in awe of the little boy he’s become and he’s amazing me day after day.
