I trying to be the over achieving mother of two thought I’d make the best damn looking Cake Pop cake for our soon to be two year olds birthday. Take into mind I’ve NEVER even made a Cake Pop before.
To prepare for next weeks party I thought I’d do a trial run to make for the boys daycare. He goes two days a week and his birthday happens to fall on one of these said days. Though it saddens me it has to be.
My first attempt just well….SUCKED. I used a Cake Pop pan and the thing is a waste of time. DON’T I repeat DON’T waste your time on the stupid pans. Instead…Bake a cake, crumble it up, and add some frosting. Form into little cake balls, and chill for two to three hours. Walla the perfect Cake Pop to use.
I also found the gluten free cake mix worked much better than the non-gluten free mix. Odd or just my experience but there you have it.
Below is the photo from my adventure today. Top two photos and left to right we have….The Stars for the Super Hero (I will tweak the stars a bit more Friday) and the crappy pops that look like ghosts from Pac Man and bottom two photos left to right the finished good Cake Pop and the Cake Pops ready for Daycare kids.
Stay tuned to part two of Cake Pops or Hell Pops this upcoming weekend which will include making the cake structure and a multitude of color.
